began providing services in 1965 with an original budget
of $4,038.56. The Center has been providing mental health
and substance abuse services to the people of Western
Colorado for over 40 years.
Midwestern offers an array of services, including:
outpatient mental health and substance abuse counseling;
psychiatric services; consultation and education;
24 hour emergency services; involuntary hospitalization;
intensive family intervention; and employee assistance
programs (EAP’s).
The agency’s funding sources are widely varied.
We are the providers of Medicaid mental health services
for our service area in addition to having contracts
for specific services with the State, cities, counties,
departments of social services, nursing homes, hospitals
and businesses throughout our service area. We also
rely on the collection of client fees and private insurance.
